Registration
Welcome to Baden
We are pleased to welcome you as a new resident of the vibrant city of Baden.
Anyone who moves to Baden must register with the Stadtbüro (City Office) within 14 days. Don’t forget to deregister first in your last place of residence.
Use the possibility to register yourself in Baden by using eUmzug.
We require the following documents for your registration:

Swiss nationals
- Passport/identity card
- Certificate of origin / certificate of residence
- Family booklet/family record document (for married couples with children)
- Birth certificate / certificate of recognition / custody ruling (for children whose parents are not married)
- Divorce certificate
- Health insurance certificate
- Rental contract
- If there is no contract or if there is a sublease, we require written consent from the main tenant and the owner allowing you to live in their apartment.
- Information on rental price is not required.
- Pet Passport

EU/EFTA foreign nationals
- Passport / identity card
- Foreigner permit
- Birth certificate / certificate of descent (with names of the parents)
- Family booklet / marriage certificate / certificate of recognition (for married couples with children)
- Recognition/custody ruling (for children whose parents are not married)
- Divorce certificate
- Health insurance certificate
- Employment contract
- Confirmation of employment if the employment contract was signed more than 1 month ago
- Rental contract
- If there is no contract or if there is a sublease, we require written consent from the main tenant and the owner allowing you to live in their apartment.
- Information on rental price is not required.
- Pet Passport

Foreign nationals of third countries
- Passport
- Foreigner permit
- Deregistration certificate of the last place of residence in Switzerland
- Birth certificate/certificate of descent (with names of the parents)
- Family booklet/marriage certificate (for married couples with children)
- Recognition/custody ruling (for children whose parents are not married)
- Divorce certificate
- Health insurance certificate
- Employment contract
- Confirmation of employment if the employment contract was signed more than 1 month ago
- Confirmation from the Office for Migration and Integration of the canton of Aargau (when moving to Baden from abroad)
- Rental contract
- If there is no contract or if there is a sublease, we require written consent from the main tenant and the owner allowing you to live in their apartment.
