Intercultural Translation

Language skills are central to successful integration. Learning a new language takes time. However, mutual understanding across linguistic and/or cultural differences must be guaranteed from the very beginning in important conversational situations.

The city of Baden obtains the intercultural interpreting service from the  HEKS Linguadukt placement office in Aarau. This service is organised and financed for the city of Baden by the Office for Integration.

Intercultural interpretation is free of charge for residents of Baden who do not yet speak German or for parents of children attending school in Baden. Eligible institutions are elementary school, kindergarten, school social work, social services, mother and father counselling and the Child and Adult Protection Service (KESD). If necessary, intercultural interpreters are also called in for individual initial information meetings in the city office with new residents who speak a foreign language.

Please note that only the municipal offices mentioned above can obtain interpreting services free of charge.
